With recruitment and retention of high-quality employees being a key challenge for all businesses, your unique values and culture have the potential to provide you with your own Unique Selling Point both in terms of your people and your customers.

We offer a range of services in this area, starting from an introductory high-level analysis of your current values and culture, moving on to more in-depth services such as aligning your values and culture to changes in strategy, identifying ways to leverage your values and culture to attract and retain talent, ensuring your values and culture stay relevant as your business expands and integrating cultures in acquired businesses.

Foundation Stage

In the early stages of your family business, if you want to be successful, it’s important to quickly establish the kind of company you want to be in terms of your values and culture.

We will work with you collaboratively to:

  • Differentiate your family business in the market by helping you to identify and articulate your unique values and culture

  • Identify ways to leverage your values to attract and retain employees thus reducing recruitment costs, increasing productivity and creating a strong and motivated workforce.

  • Leverage your values and culture to drive employee engagement and increase productivity and retention

  • Develop and support your managers to act in line with your values and culture

 Expansion Stage

As your family business grows you will be looking to expand, perhaps into new markets, with new customers or maybe you’re looking to  acquire other businesses.  At this stage, ensuring that your culture and values are still relevant to this changing situation will be vital if you are to succeed.

We will work with you collaboratively to:

  • Identify when your values and culture may need to adapt/change

  • Ensure consistency of values and culture as you explain across multiple locations

  • Ensure that you can fully leverage and integrate the values and culture of any acquired business to maximise your investment

Reinvention STAGE

As your family business passes from generation to generation, at some time a more fundamental re-evaluation of your strategy and purpose may be required.  At this time, ensuring that your values and culture are aligned to this new approach will be vital for ongoing business success.

We will work with you collaboratively to:

  • Align your values and culture to a new/updated business strategy

 Frequently Asked Questions

  • In almost all cases, all client facing work is undertaken by me personally. The only exception to that could be very specific learning workshops which I may decide are better delivered by one of my colleagues.

  • That’s absolutely fine. I don’t want you to commit to anything until you are sure either. All projects begin with a no-obligation exploratory first meeting when we can get to know one another a bit better, explore your needs and decide whether we want to take it further.

  • Once we have fully explored your needs and we are both clear on what you want to achieve from any project we might work on together, you will receive a detailed proposal with full cost details. You can then decide whether you want to proceed or not and then we will enter into a formal agreement.

  • That’s absolutely fine. Some of my longest client relationships have started with a short initial audit of their current culture/values/situation etc. We can then decide from there whether we both think there is value in moving forward to a larger project.

  • For values, culture, and engagement, I am mainly drawn to family businesses after I experienced personally first hand the difference that a strong family business culture can make to both the individuals working within the business and the external customer experience.

However, our leadership coaching offering is open to all leaders of any type of business.
